Online and In Person Tutoring
How It Works
I will be using Skype for Online Tutoring. Make sure that you have Skype downloaded your computer
Essentially, this is how it will work. After scheduling your session, I will give you my Skype information so that you can add me. When it comes time for your session, you can call me on Skype.
Once we are in the call, I will share my screen with you so that you can see how I am working through problems. This will help me explain concepts to you using both words and visuals.
NOTE: If you are in the Princeton area and would like an in-person 1 on 1 lesson, I can also do that. We can meet at the Princeton Public Library at an agreed upon time.
In high school, I taught a calculus course at my local public library to prepare students for the AP Calculus AB exam. My students regularly scored 4s and 5s on the AP exam and went on to take classes such as AP Calculus BC and Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra.
In addition to this course, I have also tutored a few students during the summers of my junior and senior years of high school. I have tutored Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry, helping students prepare for the upcoming school year as well as helping students succeed in summer courses.
Disclaimer: Given my academic and extracurricular commitments at Princeton, I cannot always guarantee that I will be free at the time you want to schedule a lesson. However, I can try to free myself up and if it is not possible, we can try to discuss a time that works for both of us.
On the weekdays, I am generally free in the evening, after 7 p.m. Generally, late night times will work best, but based on when you schedule, I can try to make sure that I am free at that time.
On the weekends, I have more flexibility so you can schedule at anytime during the morning or evening. On a few weekends in the fall, I will be traveling with the Princeton Running Club, but other than those days (10/6, 10/20, 11/10), generally, I will free.
At the end of the day, please try to schedule within these parameters. I know I have been relatively vague with my schedule, but if you schedule a lesson, I will do my best to make myself free at that time.
I hope I can help you in whatever position you are in!
How to Schedule
To schedule your class, simply fill out a contact form. In the subject line of the contact form, write "Tutoring: Your Subject".
In the body of the form, elaborate on what concepts you would like me to go over in the lesson. Please also list the date and time you'd like to have the tutoring session. (Please note that tutoring sessions are one hour. If you feel like you need more time, let me know and I will see if I can accommodate you). If there are certain sets of problems you'd like me to help you with, please tell me that. Then, when you add me on Skype, you can send me those problems so I can review them during the session.
I will respond to your contact form to let you know if the timing works for me (I will also give you directions as to how to add me on Skype). As a guideline, try to schedule during a time that I am free; on this page, I will post time ranges that work for me. On this page, I will also post when I am busy for a longer period of time.
NOTE: If you are close to Princeton, we can schedule an in-person 1 on 1 lesson at the Princeton Public Library. Simply follow the same instructions as above but add that you'd like to meet at the Princeton Public Library on Witherspoon Street.
I accept payment through Paypal and Venmo. At the end of the lesson, I will guide you through the payment process (it is relatively simple; I will just request a payment from my account to yours). My rate for tutoring is $35/hr.
